A sangha favoriteThis is one of my favorite of Norman's talks. He discusses the very personal relationship to language that he has as a poet, but which we all share, as users of language. In particular, I loved his deconstruction of our various acts of language. What makes thinking, and speaking, and listening, and reading, and writing all unique, and how do they differ from each other? What assumptions to we make about audience, the readers and listeners and theoretical others who are the recipient of our words?
