Zazen as the Practice of Intimacy
With Zoketsu Norman Fischer
August 20-22 (Fri-Sun) at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center
A weekend to explore zazen as the path of intimacy
In our practice, zazen is the path and practice of intimacy. It takes us beyond our aloneness to a sense of belonging to time and space, our moment to moment experience. For Dogen, the Japanese founder of Soto Zen, intimacy includes and goes beyond interaction with another person to a total warm encounter with life, with being itself. We will practice zazen according to Dogen's instructions and study his ”Universal Instructions for Zazen” (Fukanzazengi).

Zoketsu Norman Fischer Senior Dharma teacher, former Abbot of Zen Center, Poet, and Author. Founder of the Everyday Zen Foundation and co-founder of Makor Or, a Jewish Meditation Center.
