These traditional yet relaxed all day sittings include meditation, a silent lunch, dharma talk/discussion, and dokusan (private meeting with Norman or other teachers).

Suggested contribution for the All Day Sittings is $75 - 110 (sliding scale) which includes the $50 facility rental and lunch, tea/coffee plus a teacher donation. You can pay by cash or check at the sitting. Please let the Registrar know if you need a scholarship to help cover costs.

Sittings are held at the Headlands Institute, a retreat and conference center on the beach just north of San Francisco. We very much appreciate receiving your registration by the Thursday – 10 days before each sitting. Please register by responding to the monthly Sitting email notice. Please register by responding to the monthly Sitting email notice. Your response is your confirmation for attendance, and unless you have a question, you may not receive a follow-up message.

If you don’t already receive these messages, send an email to our Registrar at EDZ1day@everydayzen.org or phone 415-362-2024 and include your phone number in your message. Last minute registrations are always possible but you may need to bring your own lunch if you have not registered timely.

IMPORTANT - If your plans change, please immediately notify the registrar at EDZ1day@everydayzen.org or phone 415-362-2024. We provide a final lunch count and attendance commitment to the Headlands the Friday morning before our sitting. Please advise us of a cancellation no later than 4:00 pm on the Thursday before the sitting. If you must cancel after that time, please leave a phone message and understand that you will be asked to cover the cost of the per person Headlands Institute cost of $50.

What to bring: a zafu or bench, zabuton, mat or blanket. Padded chairs are available.
